The new flagship Sony Xperia Z6 will be presented in five versions

Sony has already confirmed that it is going to hold a press conference on January 5, 2016 at the international electronics exhibition CES. However, the new flagship model the Japanese company usually announces a month later, at another exhibition – Mobile World Congress (MWC). Nevertheless, there is a possibility that this will happen a little earlier.

All that is known at the moment about the new Xperia Z6 flagship is that the device is unlikely to offer a completely different design. Technical specifications are also very likely to undergo minimal updating. Nevertheless, in the production of Sony Mobile, according to the latest rumors, there are several models of Xperia Z6. Will they be announced at the same time – it’s difficult to say yet, but they will be accurately calculated for different price segments.

According to AnTuTu, which published information on the portal, Sony plans to release at least five versions of the Xperia Z6: Xperia Z6 Mini (X45), Xperia Z6 Compact (X55), Xperia Z6 (X60), Xperia Z6 Plus (X65) and Xperia Z6 Ultra (X50).

It is indicated that, with the exception of the version of the Xperia Z6 Mini, which will run on the basis of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, the heart of all other versions of the Xperia Z6 will be the Snapdragon 820 processor.

The usual version of the Xperia Z6 will be equipped with a 5.2-inch display. The mini-version will offer a 4-inch touchscreen, and the screen size of the Xperia Z6 Compact will be 4.6 inches. The older models of the Sony Xperia Z6 Plus and Xperia Z6 Ultra will be equipped with 5.8-inch and 6.4-inch displays.

As mentioned above, there is a chance (at least so some of the mainstream media believe) that at least some versions of the updated flagship will be presented next month at CES-2016, but most likely Sony will hold the announcement until February, and at CES, as usual, will show new consumer electronics.
